From relaxed club shoots to two-day sanctioned competitions, 3D archery is about challenge, camping and having a great weekend together.
Caboolture & District Bowmen is associated with the 3D Archery Association of Australia, giving members opportunities to enjoy club, state and national-level 3D competition.
3DAAA sanctioned shoots are held across Queensland and beyond. They are competitive events, but they are also a chance to get away, camp with the family and enjoy a weekend of archery.
Anyone who comes along is welcome to join what we call “Camp Caboolture”, where members camp together and have a lot of fun.
It is a great atmosphere for the whole family, whether you are competing or simply coming along for the weekend.
Sanctioned competitions are held over two days, with 30 targets shot on Saturday and 20 on Sunday. There is usually also a Top 10 held on Saturday afternoon.
It is a great opportunity to see some of the best archers put their talent to the test.
The 3DAAA Non Competitive division makes it easier to try a 3D competition without the pressure of having to perform.
You can also enter a division based on your age and the equipment you use and see how you go.
Club shoots are a relaxed way to experience 3D archery at Caboolture Bowmen and build confidence before taking on larger competitions.
On average, a 3D club shoot is held once a month. Twenty 3D targets are placed around the club grounds.
You shoot all 20 targets twice, normally shooting the first round, stopping for lunch, and then heading back out for the second round.
You are also given a score card so you can keep track of your scores throughout the day.
Adults: $15
Juniors: $10
Under 12: Free
Lunch: approximately $5–$7

You do not have to start by competing at the highest level. Club shoots are a great place to learn the sport, meet other archers and have some fun.
